I read, today, that Hillary is now trying to get the votes in Florida to count toward her totals. This is after she agreed that the Florida votes would not count in the Democratic nominations.

Now, before anyone gets all testy about any-and-everything… I think that what happened to Florida has to be one of the worst and meanest bits of political nastiness I’ve seen. The people of Florida did nothing wrong. The Democrats of Florida did nothing wrong. They had this entire mess visited upon their heads by the Republicans (in charge at the time). It is wrong, it is unjust, and it just plain stinks. BUT, everyone (including Hillary Clinton) agreed at the beginning that Florida would not count.
Worse, there are huge numbers of votes that were not cast simply because folks in Florida knew they would be wasting their time…so the vote that we have is not representative of the whole…which is even better than Pulling a Bush™ with the Supreme Court.
So, I called Hillary’s campaign to try to find out why she is Pulling a Bush™ in Florida, but I was transferred to voicemail. I called back and was told that no one there would talk to me. When I asked if someone would call me about it they said “I’d be happy to take your information.” When I asked if that meant “call me back” they beat around the bush (so-to-speak). I finally pinned them down and they admitted that they were only trying to placate me, and that no one would call me back. Surprise? No. ::feh::
So, I went to http://www.hillaryclinton.com (Hillary’s blog) and posted the following:
Hillary, I’m really hurt by your sudden shift into politics of expediency for Florida votes. You made a promise, now you’re breaking it. Why? I tried contacting your campaign headquarters and they won’t even allow me to talk to anyone about it…they won’t even have someone call me.
I know you are really busy, but so is the rest of America, and we’ve invested quite a bit of our resources and time on your behalf only to have you go back on your word. A concise explanation is the very least you can do for us. No word games, just some hard truth.
What really hurts here is that there were a huge number of Democrats in Florida that didn’t vote because they were, in fact, disenfranchised by the party. Now you would further disenfranchise them? Ouch, ouch, ouch! What are you doing?
They (her blogmaster) won’t post it…
I do declare, that if Hillary becomes the Democratic nominee, I will exercise my pure, People’s Republic of Washington, Independent status in voting for McCain. Yes, McCain…
Billary Clinton is clearly a status-quo politician from the get-go. I didn’t want to believe it, but she just put it out there in plain sight. No more nagging questions.
I wasn’t against her before, but now? Now I will campaign against her for free!
