WHY?
I
have a sweet little digital voice recorder (Olympus WS-100) that I
carry everywhere I carry my camera, and it only records in WMA format.
Personally, I hate WMA because it is subject to the EULA whims of
MS and I'm tired of having to fiddle with all manner of things to do
simple audio file conversions.
KDE 3.5.3 front-end for numerous sound encoders/decoders
- Uninstall the 0.1.99+0.2beta2-0ubuntu1 version that is available via Synaptic before installing
- I quickly became frustrated with the 0.1.99 version that is available through the Ubuntu/Mepis repositories (Synaptic)
and decided to move things up a bit...however, I was unable to make the
0.3.6 version, so I settled for 0.3.3. It has been working
flawlessly for me, but your mileage may vary.
- You may have to manually
create a menu item for this application after installing it. My
deb-making abilities have only progressed as far as my personal needs
go, so this is a slacker-package as far as Debian packaging rules go
(not Debian package standards compliant/made with checkinstall)
- If you encounter any problems, please send me an Email at justwally@mousemeadows.com so we can arrange to meet on the MepisLovers forums and see what's hampering your situation.
